The official announcement from CAJE:

In our January 9, 2009 email, we informed members and supporters that due to current financial challenges that CAJE could no longer offer our distinctive services to the field, and that we would be unable to convene the CAJE conference in 2009. This difficult decision was made after considering a wide range of options including offering a less expensive conference. Thank you for your outpouring of emails and phone calls voicing your love for CAJE and your real sense of loss at not having the conference.

Tragically, at this point in time, it has become very clear that not only will CAJE be unable to convene a 2009 conference, but due to financial necessity CAJE will need to close its doors by the end of February. After 33 years of advocating for Jewish education and educators CAJE as an independent organization will come to an end.
