Are You Spamming Israel?

This past Monday, an update of the Communications Law went into effect here in Israel. The purpose is to counter spam – where, unfortunately, Israel ranks high. Not only are the requirements to utilize an opt-in system more stringent than currently exists in the U.S. or E.U., the new law carries particularly heavy financial penalties for misuse. Several list-servs have had extensive discussion on the subject this past week. However, other than the griping, it is clear there is an absence of really good procedural dos and don’ts.
