Announcement: Catherine Reed named CEO of American Friends of Magen David Adom

Catherine Reed, currently chief development officer for American Friends of Magen David Adom, has been named Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2021.

Under her tenure as Chief Development Officer, AFMDA has raised the necessary funds to nearly complete the $130 million Marcus Blood Services Center for Israel, helping to greatly increase the public’s awareness of MDA’s work in Israel, and expanding the breadth of MDA’s support.

Ms. Reed replaced David M. Frankel, who led the American organization since 2015, and who stepped down down from his position at the end of 2020.

American Friends of Magen David Adom is the U.S.-based fundraising affiliate for Israel’s national ambulance, EMT, and blood-services organization, Magen David Adom, and also serves as Israel’s representative to the International Red Cross.
