2018 WeWork Israel’s Creator Awards to be Held in Jerusalem

Global company WeWork will be holding their Israel Creator Awards event this summer in Jerusalem.

Launched last year, the Creator Awards is a global initiative to recognize and reward the creators of the world, and includes over $1M of available awards per city for individuals and organizations around the world – WeWork members and others. More than 5,000 people attended the first Israel Creator Awards event in Tel Aviv last October, where winners were awarded $1.5 million. One of the regional winners in Tel Aviv – EyeControl – recently participated in the Creator Awards Global Finals in NYC, winning an additional $500,000.

The Creator Awards is intended to acknowledge and empower those who exemplify what it means to be a creator. Anyone who brings a new idea into the world, pursues his or her passion, and believes in something greater than oneself is a creator. From freelancers to founders, nonprofits to small businesses, artists to educators, creators are bringing new ideas into the world – and making it a better place – every day.

At the event, finalists will be invited to present live in front of a panel of judges, with more than $1 million in prizes and awards being distributed in four categories: Performing Arts, Nonprofit, New Venture, and Community Giver. The winners of the regional event will then be eligible to present at the Global Finals in NYC later this year for the chance to win additional funds.

The day-long event will be a celebration of entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity, with guests having the opportunity to learn new skills in master classes, shop member and non-member products in the pop-up market and make connections at the on-site job fair. In addition to the pitching, the second half of the day will feature live musical performances and the announcement of the winners, followed by a celebration in the evening.

“Israel is a constant source of inspiration, talent and growth for our company,” said Adam Neumann, CEO and Co-Founder of WeWork. “As we prepare to open our first WeWork location in Jerusalem later this year, we want to infuse the Creator Awards with the city’s unique spirit and energy: it’s the perfect place to invite creators from all backgrounds, all industries, and all walks of life to come together to celebrate innovation and new ideas.”

In addition to Tel Aviv, to date, Creator Awards regional events have already been held in Washington, D.C, Detroit, Michigan and Austin, Texas, London, Berlin, NYC and the Global Finals in NYC. In 2018, Creator Awards events are scheduled to take place in Mexico City, Shanghai, San Francisco, São Paulo, Seoul, London, Berlin, Nashville, and Jerusalem.
