More than 1,200 university students from throughout North America and around the world enjoyed a Havdalah ceremony and Saturday-night mega-party in New York, part of the Chabad on Campus International JewFest 3 day conference over last Shabbat. The attendees participated in various “Mitzvah Stations,” as they listened to live music and dug into a kosher buffet dinner, joined by their Chabad on Campus emissaries.

The weekend of programming included educational, spiritual and social activities with the goal of having students connect with each other, enjoy a spirit of celebration, and return to their respective universities rejuvenated and more active in Jewish life.

Rabbi Yossy Gordon, executive vice president of Chabad on Campus International, says “the results of the Hertog Study show a direct correlation between student involvement with their campus Chabad center and their involvement in Jewish spiritual and communal life after graduation. The annual conference is just one program – a powerful and lasting one – that connects Jewish young people to each other and their heritage. It’s experiential learning and socialization at its best.”
