YU Speaks

Additions to our ever-growing list of pain:

  • Yeshiva University officially puts their loss at $110 million
  • Jacob Ezra Merkin’s Ascot Partners – $1.8 billion (not a typo)
  • Julian J. Levitt Foundation – $6 million
  • Yad Sarah – $1.5 million
  • The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles – $6.4 million
  • Bank Hapoalim (Peilim portfolio management company) – $5 million

Three more organizations announcing they have no known liability:

  • The Jewish Federation of Rhode Island
  • Milwaukee Jewish Federation and their Community Foundation
  • Helen Bader Foundation

Melissa Berman, president of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors in New York, sums it all up this way: “I can’t think of anything since the Great Depression that had an impact of this size.”
