With significant budget deficits the last two years, JAFI and JDC need to rethink their relationship and consider consolidating/merging operations. Can the Jewish world afford two organizations with an $800 million operating budget whose missions have changed over time? Shouldn't the two organizations, together with the Jewish Federations of North America, think about what are the current global needs of the Jewish people and create a new organization that would provide the required services.
