Alexander Muss High School in Israel Names New CEO

The Alexander Muss High School in Israel has announced that Jonah Geller will assume the position of CEO beginning October 4, 2010. Geller is a veteran of the Jewish educational world, having most recently served as Executive Director of Tamarack Camps since 2002. Gideon Shavit, AMHSI’s outgoing CEO, says Geller comes to the position at a time of remarkable growth and potential for the organization. “High school programs in Israel, especially AMHSI, are undergoing a tremendous surge in popularity and we know that Jonah is the right person to take our school into the next generation,” Shavit said. Alexander Muss High School Begins to Expand

Last week, on the grounds of the Eshel Hanassi Youth Village in the northern Negev, the Alexander Muss High School in Israel (AMHSI) broke ground for the first of three dormitories planned for a new resident program. This marks the first stage of an ambitious multi-campus expansion of the Hod Ha'Sharon school. The Alexander Muss High School, established in 1972 in conjunction with the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, has developed into the premier program for high school students experiencing short-term Israel programs - a program that despite the current economic challenges is charging ahead.
