Rose Community Foundation Announces New Grants
During the fourth quarter of 2015, Rose Community Foundation awarded 335 grants totaling more than $6 million. Of this amount, $5,180,310 was awarded for 67 grants from Rose Community Foundation’s program areas to nonprofit organizations, government agencies and projects that support the health and well-being of the Greater Denver community. Donor-advised funds housed at the Foundation approved 268 grants totaling $1,180,985. Rose Community Foundation has awarded grants totaling more than $239 million since its inception in 1995.
The Foundation’s board of trustees authorized the following grants between October 1, 2015 and December 31, 2015 in the Jewish Life program area:
Boulder Jewish Community Center (Boulder): $438,188 over three years for the launch of a specialty day camp, Camp Inc. Business Academy a residential business camp, and to strengthen family engagement and parenting programs.
Colorado Agency for Jewish Education (Denver): $2,050 for a professional development program fostering skill-building, and creating and encouraging connections among Jewish professionals.
Denver Academy of Torah (Denver): $62,274 for enhanced infrastructure of a private Modern Orthodox school for grades K to 12 to streamline operations.
Ekar (Denver): $92,950 over two years to strengthen infrastructure and experiential educational programs at a Jewish community farm.
Kavod Senior Life (Denver): $29,500 to fund a project to collect and use data to improve resident programs and services.
MACC (Denver): $120,000 over three years to attract new Jewish audiences by supporting Jewish arts and culture programs offered by JAAMM Fest (Jewish Arts, Authors, Movies & Music).
Robert E. Loup Jewish Community Center (Denver): $120,265 for a new relationship-building process, and programs to strengthen leadership and increase staff’s ability to connect diverse individuals and families to the Jewish community.
MazelTot.org (Denver): $819,600 over two years to redesign, enhance and run this initiative connecting young families to Jewish life and to each other. MazelTot.org is an initiative of Rose Community Foundation.
Temple Emanuel (Denver): $250,000 for the renovation and expansion of Shwayder Camp, a residential Jewish camp.
Yeshiva Toras Chaim Talmudic Seminary of Denver (Denver): $100,000 for a challenge grant to renovate a residential boys’ high school and college specializing in Talmudic and Judaic studies.
