Pardes and OLAM Collaborate on new Global Jewish Service Podcast Series

GLobal Torah - Pardes:OLAM

OLAM and the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies are launching a new podcast series called “Global Torah: Conversations on Global Jewish Service.”

The series, initially five episodes, will explore the intersections of Jewish history, values and tradition with the practice and pursuit of global citizenship, social justice and international development. Each episode features a Pardes faculty member in conversation with OLAM coalition partners, Jewish professionals working to address the needs of vulnerable communities worldwide. The result is a dynamic and engaging look into key issues facing the Jewish people as part of a global community.

Among the challenges discussed in the series is the classic Jewish concept of “the poor of your city come first” – often used as a critique of Jewish efforts to devote resources toward the needs of non-Jews when there is still need within our own communities.
