Calling it that is idiotic. I read Shaked's piece and it was about as compelling as was his use of inappropriate language. Of course individuals in a mixed marriage are capable of living as Jewish or even a more Jewish life than many couples where both partners are Jewish. But the inconvenient truth remains - on a societal level, mixed marriages do produce a very low number of children that even identify as Jews.
