Jewish Agency Shlichim Celebrate at NYC Israel Day Parade

More than 70 Jewish Agency for Israel emissaries and soon-to-be emigrants to Israel danced and marched up 5th Avenue, alongside the Jewish Agency’s float, at yesterday’s Celebrate Israel Parade. Each year The Jewish Agency sends thousands of emissaries (Shlichim) to communities throughout the Diaspora in order to deepen the connection between the people of Israel and the Jews worldwide. While posted in their communities, Shlichim lead workshops, plan educational programs at schools and camps, teach classes, and help coordinate trips to Israel.
