In the last week, The Jewish Agency for Israel Facebook page was inundated with hundreds of explicitly anti-Israel and anti-Semitic messages. It appears as though the attack was timed to coincide with the anniversary of the Yom Kippur War, and that many of the attackers were Egyptian Facebook users hailing Egypt’s “victory” and promising Israel’s swift annihilation. Many of the messages bore swastikas, violent imagery and hateful messages in Arabic, English and poorly translated Hebrew. The messages were deleted as soon as they were discovered.
