Hebrew College is launching the second cohort of its PhD in Educational Leadership, with a specialization certificate in Jewish Educational Leadership. This program is a collaboration between Hebrew College and Lesley University, acknowledged leaders in the field of teacher education, Jewish leadership and textual sources.
The aim of the program is to develop Jewish educators or professionals who want to take on greater and deeper leadership responsibility in Jewish educational institutions and communal organizations. Since this is a part-time program designed for working professionals, the importance of being in a current position of Jewish educational leadership is a component of the integrated nature of the learning program.
The PhD program can typically be completed in three to four years. Components of the program include 48 credits of coursework, three 11-day summer residences in Boston, and a doctoral dissertation. The course of study takes place online and in three summer residencies. This is a cohort based program that enables peer support coupled with a strong advisory team to ensure successful completion of the program in a set time period.
The second cohort for this program begins this coming summer and applications need to be finalized by March 15, 2015. Further details can be found on the Hebrew College website.
