Earlier this week we reported that an airline dispute had prevented hundreds of Ethiopians from making aliyah to Israel.

The dispute has now been resolved with the Jewish Agency facilitating the departure of 350 Falash Mura to Israel via Ethiopian Airlines; 175 are in transit and will arrive overnight to be followed by an additional 175 overnight tomorrow.

This is the remaining group of Falash Mura whose aliyah was authorized under former Prime Minister Olmert’s government. On February 1st, the Jewish Agency will take over operation of the Gondar compound paving the way for the final wave of Ethiopian immigration to Israel.
