Fiduciary Responsibility in the Wake of Madoff

As the second call in a four-part series, this conversation will build on the risk management framework established in the first call and focus more specifically on fiduciary issues arising from the alleged Madoff fraud from a legal and investment policy perspective. Topics to be discussed include: an Investment Committee’s charter, the prudent investor standard, delegation of responsibility to outside advisors, conflict of interest policies, and action being considered by state attorney’s general in the Madoff case. The call will be moderated by Michael Gelman, UJC’s Treasurer.
