Ellenson to Step Down as President of Hebrew Union College

In a letter to the College Community, Rabbi David Ellenson has announced that he will step down as President of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 2014.

In making the announcement Ellenson said, “It has been the greatest privilege to devote my life to this school, and I am grateful for the opportunity and honor I have had over these past twelve years to work together with you as President in the sacred cause we champion. While I am sure I will have a welter of emotions on the day that I depart this office next year, the time is ripe for new leadership to guide the College-Institute into this 21st Century.”

The College has appointed a Presidential Search Committee and has retained the services of a professional recruitment firm to assist in the search.
